Statement on Current Falluja crisis

Statement on Current Falluja crisis

The Australian Iraqi Muslim Society: Statement on Current Falluja crisis

Again and again the human catastrophe in Iraq never ends. We were hopeful as many other peace loving people around the world that the suffering and hardship of Falluja people and many other cities and townships will come to end when they will be freed and be able to live in peace and away from the starvation, death and insecurity on the hand of ISIL.

However the news has come up with shocking scenes of mass bombing, militia watching to commit yet another massacres similar to the one committed in Tikrit, Diyala and whenever they had the chance to implement their cruel, violent and anti-human ideology of revenge.

What makes it even more worrying that these atrocities are happening in the presence of what supposed to be the Iraqi army and the air surveillance of allied air force.

Australian Iraqi Muslims Society (AIMS) as social and cultural society is deeply concerned that the horrible crimes will repeat itself on the hand of these dirty militia and the innocent citizen will be quote between the cruel crimes of the militia and the terror of ISIL for no justification except that they live in the area of conflict.

We call on all the parties starting with the Iraqi government to be up to it’s commitment towards all the citizens of Iraq, stop the militia from their sadistic inhuman behavior and do all in it’s capacity to fulfil the requirements for the families which can make their way to the area under government’s control, handle them in civilized way away from mass punishment, out of law arrest and torture.

We condemn with the strongest words those statements, mass accusation made by some militia leaders, warlords of all the citizen of the war zone and calling for extinction of all of them. We also condemn the Iranian interference in the internal affairs of Iraq in biased and colonial intend which will certainly do nothing but worsening the sectarian division and be the best recipe for further violence.

As Australians of Iraqi background we call on the Australian government to take this into consideration and do everthing in its capacity to stop the cruelty of sectarian militia. Australians are proud of the constructive, peace contributing role of their nation globally including Iraq, but we are equally concerned if our country and army fight the same battle with those militia, with a well known history in crimes, sick ideology and all their links to other criminal and terrorist organizations. We also call on all non-government organizations to do their best in alleviating the calamities and the harsh living conditions of all displaced families and supply the basics of decent life.

Official Statement: Humanitarian Disaster In Fallujah And Ramadi

Statement From The Australian Iraqi Muslim Society Regarding The Humanitarian Disaster In Fallujah And Ramadi

In the name of God, the merciful, the beneficent

News from Iraq continue to tell a tragic story of pain and suffering, this time with indications of a humanitarian disaster about to take place in the western region of Iraq, specifically Ramadi and Fallujah.

The only crime perpetrated by the inhabitants of those two provinces is that they happen to live between the claws of terrorist groups and the talons of sectarian militias, under the eye of a state still absolutely failing in its basic duty to safeguard its people.

Official Statement: Crimes In Muqdadiyah

Official Statement: Crimes In Muqdadiyah

The Australian Iraqi Muslim Society was shocked to learn of the crimes taking place on a daily basis in Muqdadiyah

In The Name Of Allah, The Merciful, The Beneficent

Every day the new Iraq wakes to news of a new tragedy in this endless stream of crimes at the hands of criminal militia elements targeting the sunni population in Iraq. The most recent such crime occurring as we speak against the people of Muqdadiyah (in the Iraqi province of Diyala) by violent groups and militias devoid of any humanity or religion.

Horrendous war crimes are taking place in Muqdadiyah including targeting innocent unarmed civilians taken from their families and homes to be beaten, tortured and killed under the guise fighting terrorism. At a time when the only terrorist presence or indeed criminal activity in Diyala (and Muqdadiyah in particular) is by the hands of those bloodthirsty militias, the violence of which reached even to destroying mosques and targeting members of the media trying to cover this systematic effort to wipe out the sunni segment of the community whose crime was their beliefs and their misfortune of living areas targeted to be acquired for well known a foreign political agenda.

The Australian Iraqi Muslim Society was shocked to learn of those crimes taking place on a daily basis on the hands of groups so exceedingly brutal and violent that they have surely abandoned their humanity, as well as their religious and national identities, and have become instead attacks dogs for a wider foreign political regional policy of expansion against the united cultural, religious and geographical reality of Iraq as it stands.
Therefore we condemn in the strongest terms these attempts to wipe out Iraq’s sunni community and their properties and places of worship. Furthermore we call upon anyone who calls Iraq their home or who have any sense of humanity to do all they can to uncover the truth of what’s happening in Muqdadiyah to stop the machinations of this horrific ongoing massacre.
The world has come to recognize such crimes and those who perpetrate them and stand to benefit from them when the UN condemned those crimes and warned of their repercussions. We therefore call the international community and specially those who took an active part leading to what is currently happening in Iraq to take real credible steps towards to stop those crimes before it’s too late.

We end this release with a prayer for our brothers and sisters in Muqdadiyah and Babel to be counted by Allah SWT as martyrs, and to heal the wounded and protect those still surviving and persevering in those homes.

How Your Donations Are Helping The Needy

How Your Donations Are Helping The Needy

Back in June of this year. AIMS hosted a “The Silent Crisis” fundraising dinner to support the hundreds of thousands of internally displaced Iraqis as a result of the political turmoil the country has been in, and through the generosity of the Muslim community in Sydney we were able to raise $450,000 on the night. It was a truly humbling evening.

Since then, the team at AIMS have been working tirelessly with the brothers at Islamic Relief Australia to ensure the money gets through the multiple security and redtape hoops to finally reach its target.

Alhumuillah, just last week, IR-AU informed us that the funds have in fact reached their target.

With the funds raised by AIMS, Islamic Relief identified areas where highly vulnerable refugees are living in order to assist the people most in need. As this project is ongoing the exact location of the distribution is withheld to ensure security for our staff and those we are helping. Islamic Relief staff met with these refugees to hear from them first hand. The refugees told our team that most of them had left everything behind, that they had no form of income and no access to food or hygiene supplies.

Thanks to AIMS, Islamic Relief is providing food packs and hygiene kits to 1,050 families who have fled the conflict in Anbar and are now living in informal settlements. The food packs ensure families are able to eat nutritious food for a month, during which time they will be referred into bigger food programmes with the UN and World Food Program. The hygiene kits include soap and toothbrushes and toothpaste, nappies for babies and sanitary napkins for women, providing dignity to the brave families who have lost everything.

AIMS-IR-AU assistance

We thank Allah SWT for helping us to provide this assistance to the most needy in Iraq. We humbly thank all the brothers and sisters who joined us on the night and contributed to raising those funds. And we thank the brothers at Islamic Relief Australia for their efforts to get the assistance to where it’s needed most.

Anas Altikiri Talk: Post-Maliki Iraq; the Probables and the Impossibles

On Friday the 6th of November. The Australian Iraqi Muslim Society hosted a talk by Dr Anas Altikriti about the current political state in Iraq post Maliki. It was a very engaging and informative talk attended by almost 100 people at the Bankstown Seniors Hall.

Dr Anas explained the deep flaws in establishing the Iraqi constitution after the 2003 invasion that was set up to fail. He described the deep corruption that has been endemic in Iraq, one of the wealthiest countries in the world in terms of natural resources.

Dr Anas also went on to illustrate the problematic sectarian/ethnic political division and breakdown in a country that historically did not identify along such warped lines.

After the talk and the Q&A session, dinner was served, and the community engaged in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere of further discussions and debates.

The Australian Iraqi Muslim Society committee would like to thank the brothers at AIM for lending us Dr Anas during his visit to Sydney to speak at the AIM conference on Saturday

Dr Anas Altikriti is the CEO and Founder of The Cordoba Foundation, a UK-based independent Think Tank which examines and comments on the relationship between the Muslim World and the West
